Nelum Class Teacher: Level 1 (Year 1+2)
Brief info
I am Chamathi Kossinna, a university student studying in the Health field. I grew up in Sri Lanka for eight years, and now living in Australia, I understand the importance of passing down our language and culture to the future generations as these play an importance aspect in individuals.
I was a past student of both Yashodhara Sinhala and Dhamma School and since January 2018, I have become teacher at the Yashodhara Sinhala School. This opportunity has given me the chance to educate to the younger generation’s, our mother tongue and the Sri Lankan culture. I was motivated to start teaching as I wanted to pass down my knowledge I have gained from firsthand experience at the school and it allows myself to better understand what is required of teachers to facilitate learning.
